Bio

Borowiak begins his second season as Gateway’s hitting coach in 2014.  The Nashville, IL native spent 2011 as the team’s bench/defense coach.

 

Borowiak, a teammate of Warren’s in college at Southeast Missouri State University, played in the Boston Red Sox organization from 2003-2009 after being drafted in the 14th round of the 2003 draft out of SEMO.  Borowiak drove in 205 runs in 604 career games, reaching Triple-A Pawtucket.

 

“Zach was a great hire for us last year and we are excited to have him for another season,” Warren commented.  “Not only does he help with our hitters, but he also works with our defense and plays a big part in aligning our defense during the game.”
