24-year old Michael Wing brings six seasons of affiliated baseball experience to the Grizzlies. He was selected in the 26th round of the 2007 draft out of Upland High School by the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. Wing brings Double-A experience and a career .272 batting average in professional baseball to Gateway.

He was traded to the Grizzlies from the Joliet Slammer in August after Gateway shortstop Vladimir Frias was picked up by the Red Sox. Wing hit .210 with 36 RBI for the Slammers in 2013.
