BRANDON THOMAS BREAKS OWN WINDSHIELD ON A MONSTROUS GRANDSLAM

It was a one in a million shot and Grizzlies' outfielder Brandon Thomas was that one.

On Sunday, August 21 the Grizzlies took on the Joliet Slammers in the series finale at GCS Ballpark. The Grizzlies crushed five homeruns and did a little payback from the night before as they crush the Slammers 17-6. For the full game report, visit the homepage!

The biggest hit of the night though was the grandslam shot from Brandon Thomas. With two outs and the Grizzlies down by three, Thomas knew he had to step up early in the game. Right off the swing of the bat, he knew it was gone, but he did not know where it would land. By some misfortunes and a little bit of luck, that ball landed right on his very own windshield of his truck. The windshield shattered and so did the score after that one shot. The Grizzlies went on to score 13 more times, a total of 17 runs, the most all season for the team.

Even before the player's story became trendy, Thomas claimed it was "definitely worth it" on his personal Twitter account. The outfielder's story has since been circulating around the country from social media to radio stations to news outlets.

The Grizzlies have had a roller coaster of a season, but being the optimistic players they are, they look at this as a little bit of luck as the Grizzlies try to push for that special playoff spot that they've been wanting all season long. With this big win, the Grizzlies remain one game out of the final wildcard spot for the 2016 postseason. For the full standings, CLICK HERE! Hopefully, this is just the start of some magical things to happen at GCS Ballpark this season.
